Our client is a multi-award-winning global leader in vehicle safety systems for commercial vehicles and mobile machinery. Their cutting-edge technologies help prevent collisions and save lives. This role is fully on-site 5 days a week.

We're seeking a hands-on Product Development Technician to support the engineering team in researching, developing, and testing new safety products and technologies. This role blends electronics expertise with automotive awareness and offers a mix of workshop-based testing and field trials across the UK.

You'll be responsible for evaluating product performance, refining test methods, and ensuring robust, real-world functionality. Collaboration with global suppliers and internal teams is key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct product and system testing, evaluation, verification, and validation
  • Devise and implement improved test setups and procedures
  • Support or lead product and documentation updates
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and colleagues
Key Tasks
  • Benchmarking, teardown, troubleshooting, and reporting on vehicle safety technologies
  • Electrical and mechanical modification, prototype construction, and rework
  • Participation in project meetings and engineering activities
  • Occasional UK travel for vehicle trials and supplier liaison
What You\'ll Bring
  • Hands-on experience with electronics, ideally in the automotive sector
  • Strong understanding of analogue/digital circuits, data signals, and 12/24V systems
  • Appreciation of embedded software and communications protocols
  • Skilled in using DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and soldering (SMD/PTH)
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and standard desktop applications
  • Flexibility to travel and work beyond standard hours when required
