Overview

Product Design Teacher – Barnet. Key Stages 3–4. Temp to Perm, full-time role. October 2025 start. Salary £36,918 – £56,959 per year. Well resourced and managed department with a Design Technology technician; excellent Senior Leadership Team; capable students with minimal behaviour management needs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Product Design to Key Stage 3–4, with Key Stage 5 potentially added in the future for a capable practitioner.
  • Deliver GCSE-level instruction to a high standard; plan, prepare and deliver lessons independently; participate in extra-curricular activities.
  • Collaborate within a well-resourced Design Technology department that includes a dedicated technician for each subject area.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, purposeful learning environment and raise standards across the DT curriculum.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a related Product Design field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (e.g., PGCE or equivalent) with Product Design training.
  • Ability to teach through the Design Technology syllabus; experience in teaching or interest in other DT topic areas is advantageous.
  • Willingness to fully immerse in the school community and take on responsibilities as a member of the department; ECTs considered.
