Overview

Up to £60k + Benefits.

Our client is a large FMCG business which make a number of well-known products and have numerous sites across the UK. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager with expertise in Packaging to join their Leeds site.

The focus will be site specific with some ad-hoc Group Procurement project responsibilities.

Responsible for a spend of circa £20m you will report into the site FD with a dotted line into Group Procurement.

There will be progression opportunities at Group level.

The Role

• Source packaging materials at the lowest total cost of ownership. This includes the close collaboration with the Group Procurement function to align to Group processes, share best practice and exploit synergy opportunities.
• To support the development and implementation of packaging category sourcing strategies.
• Proactively develop existing supplier relationships whilst continuing to explore potential new supply options that can bring added value to the business
• Ensure packaging materials are sourced responsibly in line with regulatory, ethical, technical, sustainability and customer requirements.
• Maintain the Buying file to support the SAP costing process
• Own the annual cost of goods budget process for designated categories - provide clear articulation of rationale for assumptions

The Person

• Experienced Buyer who has some Packaging (plastics, paper, cardboard, labels) procurement experience within either FMCG, Food & Drink Manufacturing, Pharma or Beauty industries.
• End to End Procurement experience.
• Strong supplier performance management experience
• A confident character who is a self-starter and has the desire to get the best value.
• Good negotiator
• Ideally degree and / or CIPS qualified
• SAP knowledge is desirable.
