Job Description
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking candidates for a full-time Mid-Level Principal Structural Engineer.
Engineer responsibilities will include working on design and construction administration for water and wastewater treatment projects. Responsible for the production of design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans, and specifications for Water / Wastewater projects including plant upgrades, storage facilities, pipelines, stormwater systems, pump stations, and distribution/collection systems. Also, will participate in construction administration services for similar projects including submittal review, responding to RFI’s, and clarifications during construction.
Candidates must be effective communicators and able to work successfully in a multi-discipline team environment. The candidate should have experience in the design and construction of structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum structures, as well as knowledge of applicable building codes, design standards including ACI and AISC, and structural analysis and design software. Strong structural analysis, structural design skills, and experience with structural design software are required.
The candidate should have experience with water and wastewater systems and be capable of designing, preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings and specifications for water or wastewater projects.
Prospective applicants must have between 3 to 5 years of experience and hold a BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration from an ABET-accredited institution. Candidates must have passed the PE exam.
