Overview

Primary Outreach Tutor Opportunity - Cranbrook, Exeter. Prospero Teaching is looking for Outreach Tutors to deliver bespoke tuition packages on a 1:1 basis to young people who are currently without a school placement.

The Opportunity: As Primary Outreach Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils0s education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is suitable for an experienced teacher who wants to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, engaging lessons. Many pupils will have been out of education for some time, so confidence levels may be low. Your role is to reengage them in learning and reintroduce structure into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke 1:1 lessons to bridge gaps in pupils0s education and boost engagement and attainment.
• Reengage pupils returning to learning and provide structure back into their daily routine.
• Collaborate with Prospero Teaching to monitor progression and support effective learning outcomes.

Contract/Position Details

• Location: Within the community or pupils' home in Cranbrook, Exeter
• Position: 1:1 Primary Outreach Tutor
• Type of work: Contract
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: Until the pupil can reintegrate into a new school placement
• End date (if applicable): Ongoing
• Contract type: Temporary
• Full-time/part-time: Part time (6 - 15 hours per week, per student)
• Minimum rate of pay: £25+ per hour
• Hours: Working hours can vary depending on family timings

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

Eligibility

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
