Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A prison located in Littleton.

HMP Long Lartin is a male prison serving life sentences with a capacity for 690 inmates.

Hours

37.5 hours per week (7:30am–8:00pm) The shifts are 11.5 hours, including weekends and occasional nights.

Salary

This is a full‑time position, with an annual salary between £34 428 and £41 659 depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group while being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team
  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning
  • Share knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi‑disciplinary teams

Qualifications required
