Job summary

A well-rated nursery in Tooting is seeking a passionate Room Leader to join their supportive team. Responsibilities include supporting children’s learning using the EYFS framework, planning assessments, and maintaining health and safety standards. Ideal candidates will hold a Level 3 qualification or above and have relevant experience. This role offers an excellent salary between £29k and £32k and various benefits including holidays and a pension.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 or above with Senior Practitioner or Room Leader experience.
  • Firm understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding practice.

  • Plan, observe and assess children in your care.
  • Record keeping and risk assessment.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met.
  • Interact with parents and update them on children’s progress.

Overview

An Ofsted-rated Outstanding nursery in the heart of Tooting (SW17) is looking for a Room Leader to join their vibrant, supportive team. We’re a warm, welcoming setting where every day is filled with curiosity, creativity, and laughter.

Location: Tooting SW17

Rooms available: Toddler & Preschool

Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days or 4 days option)

Salary: Excellent salary £29k to £32k + Benefits

Qualification: Level 3 or above with either Senior Practitioner or Room Leader experience

Responsibilities
  • Support children’s learning using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and parental aspirations
  • Plan, observe and assess children in your care
  • Record keeping
  • Risk assessment
  • Assist with meals/snack times
  • Ensure health and safety/safeguarding standards are met
  • Interacting with parents and updating them on the child’s progress
  • Supervise staff in your room
  • Liaise with external professionals
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 3 or above with Senior Practitioner or Room Leader experience
  • A firm understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding practice
