Overview

Job Description

We are looking for a Pre-Construction Manager to join an M&E contractor to support the delivery of building projects in and around Manchester. In this role, you will manage the pre-construction phase, coordinating design, cost planning, and bid preparation to ensure projects are well planned, cost effective, and aligned with client requirements.

You will work closely with Estimators, Design teams, and Project Managers to provide technical input, oversee project feasibility, and support the development of the project.

Responsibilities

• Manage Pre-Construction activities for high rise construction projects.
• Coordinate with design teams and consultants to review M&E systems, drawings, and specifications.
• Support the preparation of tender submissions and cost estimates.
• Assist in developing project strategies, risk assessments, and programmes.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of pre-construction activities, costs, and communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transition from pre-construction to project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Pre-Construction manager in construction.
• Strong M&E knowledge with experience on building services in high-rise or large scale projects.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, design, and tendering.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Commercial Awareness with ability to assess project risks and costs.
• Proficiency and experience with estimating or project software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working on multi million pound projects.
