A local medical practice in Tintagel is looking for a qualified practice nurse to join their supportive team. Responsibilities include chronic disease management, medication reviews, and various nursing duties such as wound care and cervical screenings. The ideal candidate will be a member of the NMC and have relevant post-registration studies. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly practice that values team collaboration and quality patient care.

About the practice:
Experience of chronic disease management, cervical screening and treatment room duties such as dressings and ECGs is essential. A prescribing qualification or a willingness to complete a prescribing qualification is desirable.

Medication reviews
Support with path lab results
Chronic disease management
Wound care (ulcer/doppler) and dressings
BP taking, ECGs and phlebotomy
Injections including travel health
Cervical screening
Coil checks and removals
Vaginal swabs
Ear syringing
Suture/clip removals
QRISK cardiac risk scores
Pessary fitting/changing
Coag INR checks
Hy-Pylori breath tests
Develop, embed and implement health promotion
Provide routine nursing care to patients asrequired in accordance with clinical based evidence and guidance (NICE, NSF,Practice protocols)
Prioritise health issues and interveneappropriately
Support the team in dealing with clinicalemergencies
Recognise, assess and refer patientspresenting with mental health needs
Implement vaccination programmes for adultsand children
Support patients in the use of theirprescribed medicines or over the counter medicines (within own scope ofpractice)
Liaise with external services / agencies toensure the patient is supported appropriately (vulnerable patients etc.)
Delegate clinical responsibilitiesappropriately (ensuring safe practice and the task is within the scope ofpractice of the individual)
Support the clinical team with allsafeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policies
Understand practice and local policies forsubstance abuse and addictive behaviour, referring patients appropriately
Ensure prescribing quality against local andnational guidance
Supporting the practice with the managementof QOF
