Job summary

A leading consultancy agency is seeking a Practice Model Officer for Birmingham Children’s Trust. The successful candidate will implement and develop the Connections Count practice model, focusing on trauma-informed and relationship-based practices. Neway International are seeking a Practice Model Officer to join our client based with Birmingham Children’s Trust.

Location: One Avenue

Hours: 35 per week, Monday–Friday, 08:45–17:15

Pay Rate: £24.52 PAYE / £33.30 Umbrella

About the Client

Birmingham Children’s Trust is dedicated to improving outcomes for children, young people and families across the city. Their bespoke practice model, Connections Count, underpins all aspects of their work — from direct practice to leadership, culture and organisational development. This short‑term assignment supports a key project focused on embedding and strengthening the model across the Trust.

The Role

As a Practice Model Officer, you will play a central role in supporting the implementation, delivery and ongoing development of the Connections Count practice model. You will design and deliver high‑quality learning, champion trauma‑informed and relationship‑based practice, and support staff through reflective practice and continuous improvement.

This role requires a confident facilitator with strong knowledge of trauma‑informed approaches, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and professional groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the implementation and integration of the Connections Count practice model
  • Design, deliver and evaluate training rooted in trauma‑informed, developmentally sensitive and relationship‑based practice
  • Facilitate bespoke learning sessions for staff across the Trust
  • Champion the practice model, promoting reflective practice and supporting continuous improvement
  • Provide professional expertise and guidance on trauma‑informed and relational practice
  • Support the development of resources, workshops and learning materials
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the wider Learning and Development Service, ensuring high‑quality learning opportunities for staff
