Responsibilities
  • Undertake social work practice audits and assurance activities using appropriate tools and model their use for others.
  • Collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from various quality assurance activities, reporting directly to the Practice Evaluation and Audit Service Manager.
  • Support the dissemination of social work practice standards within Children’s Social Care services.
  • Line manage the Project Officer, coordinate work programs, and produce comprehensive reports and data.
  • Influence the professional development and performance of early help practitioners, social workers, and managers.
  • Support practice improvement activities through learning sets, training, and one-to-one support.
  • Quality assure audits and support thematic analysis to foster improvement.
  • Assist in updating procedures, policies, and practice standards that facilitate good practice.
  • Collaborate with the Safeguarding Children Partnership for multi-agency audit and assurance activities, including report writing and presenting findings.
  • Produce high-quality case analysis and evaluation for a variety of reviews and escalations.
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in social work, currently registered with Social Work England.
  • In-depth knowledge of performance frameworks for children’s services and national indicators.
  • Thorough understanding of the Social Care Capability Framework and its expectations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and policies relating to Looked After Children, Children in Need, and Child Protection.
  • Experience in leading children’s social care services at a senior level.
  • Substantial experience in practice education, social work training, and practice evaluation.
  • Proven ability to transfer knowledge and skills to colleagues through various forms of training.
