Overview

Power Electronics Engineer

Location: West Midlands, UK. Excellent package (10–15% pension + benefits). UK Right to Work required.

Whether you’re early in your career or ready to lead projects, you’ll play a key role in designing, testing, and delivering next-generation power electronics systems.

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design, modelling, and documentation of advanced power electronics converters across electrical, thermal, and control domains.
  • Oversee schematics, BOMs, compliance, and rigorous validation/testing of low- and medium-voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
Experience / Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Master’s/PhD desirable)
  • Proven experience in converter design and control systems.
  • Strong semiconductor device knowledge (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SiC, GaN, etc.).
  • Skilled in modelling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, PSpice, Mathcad, CFD.
  • Eligible for UK security clearance and open to occasional travel.
Desirable

Desirable: SAP & Teamcenter (PLM), strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
