Overview

As a Portfolio Analyst in the Transformation and Change Hub, you'll play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of our Corporate Change Portfolio. This role sits at the heart of the Transformation and Change Directorate, supporting the strategic oversight of major programmes and projects. You'll work closely with project teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders to ensure change initiatives are aligned to organisational priorities and delivered effectively. Your analysis and insight will help inform decisions, monitor cumulative change impact, and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes. This is a dynamic and collaborative role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about enabling change that makes a real difference.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse and monitor the CPS Corporate Change Portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and delivery standards.
  • Support governance forums by preparing reports, tracking progress, and identifying risks, issues and interdependencies.
  • Engage with project teams and stakeholders to gather insights and assess cumulative change impact across the organisation.
  • Maintain key portfolio artefacts including delivery maps, dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Champion continuous improvement by supporting the development and adoption of best practice tools, techniques and processes.
  • As part of this role, you are expected to undertake direct line management responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Never been under 16 at the start of the role.
  • Demonstrable experience in analysing programmes/portfolios, interpreting complex information and producing actionable insights with reporting/visualisation tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including working confidently with senior officials and cross‑team partners.
  • Knowledge of governance processes, risk, opportunity and benefits management and support for decision‑making forums or boards; background in Project Delivery, including capability development, resourcing and managing across multiple workstreams.
  • Highly organised, able to work at pace with a strong commitment to learning, development and supporting others' growth.
