Job summary

A regional police force in Wales is seeking a Constable for the role of Counter Terrorism Prevent Case Officer. This exciting position involves supporting the Prevent Strand of the Contest strategy, managing risks related to radicalisation, and delivering training to local partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Counter Terrorism policing and experience in safeguarding. A full-time, permanent role based in North Wales, this job requires completion of the two-year probationary period and competency as an investigator.

Information about the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Constable to apply for a role as Counter Terrorism Prevent Case Officer as part of the Regional, CTP Wales Prevent Team. This is a North Wales Police specific post and the successful applicant will be expected to geographically cover the whole of North Wales Police as well as other parts of Wales.

The role of the CTCO is to support the Prevent Strand of the Contest strategy within the Wales region whilst helping to develop and deliver the National and Local Prevent plan by engaging with individuals and institutions who are vulnerable to radicalisation. You will be responsible for the effective risk management of Prevent individuals, working with partners to divert the subject away from radicalisation through using the Prevent Assessment Framework. The CTCO will also be responsible for delivering awareness and training to regional and local partners internally and externally in order to raise awareness of Prevent and the referral process.

The CTCO will also be expected to assist other strands of the Contest Strategy as and when required. This could mean short notice deployments to other areas of the country.

Applicants must have successfully completed their two year probationary period and be competent investigator. PIP 2 Investigator accreditation and / or safeguarding experience is desirable. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of Counter Terrorism policing and in particular the Contest and Prevent Strategy. Previous safeguarding experience or working with partners to manage risk is desirable.
