Planning Officer needed in Stoke on Trent Paying £39.99 per hr ref 5275597

Full time hours on a temporarybasis

Key Responsibilities

As a Planning Officer, you will:

  • Provide clear and professional advice on planning law, policy, and guidance, following best practices and established procedures.
  • Assess and make recommendations on planning applications and enforcement complaints, including those involving listed buildings, conservation areas, tree preservation orders, advertisements, and hazardous substances.
  • Support local businesses by offering practical planning advice and connecting them with relevant services and partners.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of sustainable regeneration projects across sites and areas, aligned with strategic development programmes.
  • Conduct monitoring, research, and investigations to inform planning decisions.
  • Validate planning applications to ensure completeness and compliance.
  • Prepare and present reports to committees and other meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for investment in regeneration initiatives.
  • Participate in the planning duty system and provide published planning advice and information.
  • Monitor planning conditions, obligations, and ongoing developments.
  • Act as a professional witness in planning matters, including inquiries, hearings, examinations, and court proceedings.
  • Promote a collaborative and quality-focused approach to work.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required by senior management.
