Planned Maintenance Surveyor
Essential Car User | Temporary to Permanent

We are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Planned Maintenance Surveyor to join a local authority housing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied role that covers contract administration, project delivery, and professional surveying advice. The position will begin on a temporary basis, with the intention of progressing into a permanent role.

The Role

As a Planned Maintenance Surveyor, you will provide professional advice on property and construction matters, with a strong focus on JCT contract conditions. You will play a key role in the administration of planned maintenance and refurbishment projects, ensuring contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting as Contract Administrator on planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Preparing and managing contract documents, tenders, and cost analyses.
  • Monitoring the financial performance of contracts, reporting on value for money and projected costs.
  • Implementing pre- and post-contract programmes, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales.
  • Carrying out feasibility studies, scheme designs, and drafting technical specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with planning legislation, building regulations, and health & safety requirements, including CDM 2015.
  • Managing subcontractors and providing professional advice on property and construction matters.
  • Promoting customer care and continuous improvement within housing services.
About You

We are seeking a professional with:

  • A BTEC HNC in a building-related subject.
  • Substantial post-qualification contract administration experience within the building/surveying sector.
  • Knowledge and experience of administering JCT contracts.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and building regulations.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and CAD.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (Essential Car User).
  • Full or working towards membership of RICS or CIOB.

Desirable: Knowledge of social housing issues, project management qualifications, and experience with Microsoft Project, NBS software, and building services standards.
