Who We Need

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Pastoral Team at Nottingham College Basford College to support students in becoming ‘Future Ready’. The role covers a range of levels across Construction, Sport, Public Services, Animal Science, Early Years, SLDD and Foundation Learning. The pastoral team also supports many social events and trips with our students, bringing fun and learning together.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Pastoral Team at Basford College to develop and deliver an effective and efficient tutorial programme.
  • Facilitate sessions designed to develop personal characteristics, social skills, employability skills and provide students with the support and guidance to enable them to achieve success.
  • Deliver group tutorials and meet with students on a 1‑to‑1 basis where appropriate.
  • Support attendance, liaise with parents/guardians and signpost students to the most appropriate support mechanisms.
  • Play a pivotal role in ensuring the student experience is of the highest quality and broaden their experiences across the college.
  • Take part in training and induction, and ongoing professional development throughout your time with the college.
Qualifications
  • Hold GCSEs (A in English and Maths or equivalent) at least C level.
  • Be able to demonstrate evidence of managing groups of students.
  • Have good ICT and administration skills.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
