Position: Personal Assistant

Hours: up to 26.25 hours per week, Flexible times

Wage: £12.58 per hour

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Employer: A former qualified outdoor pursuits teacher and Para canoeist seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to support with daily living. Following a mountaineering accident at age 23, the employer is now a full-time wheelchair user with mobility challenges and wears callipers. They are awaiting a possible shoulder replacement due to recurring dislocations.

Despite physical limitations, the employer remains passionate about sports, wildlife, and art, and enjoys staying active and engaged in the community. They also enjoy using the computer for tasks such as online shopping and communication, but require support to do so effectively.

Role Overview

This is a rewarding opportunity to support someone in maintaining independence, health, and wellbeing. The PA will assist with personal care, mobility, and daily routines, while also enabling the employer to pursue their interests and attend appointments.

About You
  • Patient, flexible, and reliable
  • Physically able to assist with mobility and wheelchair support
  • Comfortable with personal care tasks
  • Good sense of humour and positive attitude
  • Confident using technology
  • Experience in care or support work is helpful but not essential
  • Experienced driver with a clean license
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • A DBS check will be required

  • You will be employed directly by the individual receiving support
  • Training and guidance will be provided
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required
  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK with no criminal background. Post subject to DBS check.
