Overview

Location: Rodney Parade, Central Newport. I am a 46-year-old female with MS seeking home and community support to improve mobility. I use a wheelchair currently and need assistance with daily living in my home and in the community as I work toward using a walking frame.

Responsibilities
  • Transfers from bed to wheelchair
  • Support to shower and get dressed in the morning
  • Support with therapy activities, such as massaging legs
  • Transport to groups and appointments
  • Household chores
  • Personal and continence care, including changing pads
  • Getting ready for bed in the evenings

Hours of Work

7:00–8:00 am x 5 days: one hour morning call to assist with transfers from bed, shower, continence care, breakfast, and day preparation.

2:00–2:30 pm x 5 days: 30 minutes to support continence care and toileting.

9:00–10:00 pm x 5 days: assistance with evening pads, nightwear, a drink, and getting to bed (legs cannot be raised independently).

Plus 4.5 hours per week to take me out into the community (total 17 hours per week).

Note: Hours and days are negotiable after a successful interview; we are accepting applications for each shift as an entire day may not suit all.

Rate of pay

£13.45 per hour
