Personal Advisor – Cheshire East Council
£20.28 per hour | Full-time | Ongoing Contract

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a dedicated Personal Advisor to join Cheshire East Council, supporting young people preparing to leave the care of the local authority.

Job Purpose

As a Personal Advisor, you will act as a corporate parent, ensuring care leavers are supported to achieve their full potential. You will provide high-quality assessments, targeted support, advice and guidance to help young people develop the skills they need to live independently and thrive in all aspects of their lives. This is a targeted, outcome-focused role, working with young people who are legally defined as care leavers and entitled to this provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with young people as they transition to independence.
  • Deliver ongoing advice and guidance across education, training, housing, health, employment and life skills.
  • Enhance young people’s capacity to achieve their goals and live successfully as independent adults.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, partner agencies and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Provide detailed assessments and contribute to pathway planning, reviews and monitoring outcomes.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with young people, ideally within a leaving care, social care, or youth support setting.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to motivate and empower.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, care leavers’ entitlements and legislation around looked after children.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable.
