First Step Physical Education, part of the First Step Sports Group are specialists in the planning, organisation, delivery, and assessment of Primary School PE, delivering quality PE and sports offerings, to schools across Yorkshire. Position

We are seeking a PE Coach with experience delivering sports and physical education to young people in school settings. In this role, you will teach a variety of sports, following our delivery standards while working with the same groups of children each term—supporting their progression, assessing their skills, and helping them grow in confidence.

This position requires someone who is confident, knowledgeable, and adaptable, with the ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people of all abilities.

The role involves delivering Curriculum PE and extra-curricular in the afternoon (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs 1:00pm - 4:00pm & Fri 8:45am - 11:45pm).

15 hours per week term-time (39 weeks per year)

£9,720 per annum

Responsibilities

• Deliver PE lessons and a variety of Sports to primary school aged pupils
• Be assertive and respected by pupils
• Lesson administration
• Developing adapting schemes of work
• Provide an exciting learning experience
• Be versatile and committed to learning

• Demonstrate professionalism to clients
• Travel to various locations and settings in the Yorkshire region
• Assist in the promotion of other First Step Sports brands

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

• Level 2 coaching badge or equivalent
• 1 year teaching experience
• Experience creating and following lesson plans
• An interest in delivering other areas of the PE Curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics)
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Risk Assessment experience
• Experience working with a variety of ages
• GCSE Maths and English.
• First Aid and Child Protection Training - Desirable
• Committed to continuous professional development
• Driving License and your own transport are essential for this position
• Level 2 Coaching Qualification is a mandatory requirement for this position
