Job description
Overview

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – Patient Pathway Tracker role in the RTT Pathway Team. The closing date is 04 February 2026.

We are looking for someone to track patients across their Referral To Treatment pathway and ensure potential breaches of waiting time targets are avoided or escalated to the relevant manager. The role is mainly remote working with an initial period of face-to-face training at York Hospital and periodic team meetings. The base location is York, with the possibility to support colleagues across all Trust sites.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage and track the progress of referrals to ensure each stage of the patient pathway is fully planned and booked.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to ensure wait time targets are achieved and breaches are escalated as needed.
  • Develop and maintain organised, detail-orientated workflow, prioritising workload effectively and working independently when required.
  • Become proficient in the Trust's Patient Administration System (CPD) with full training provided.
  • Attend York Hospital for the initial training period and periodically for team meetings; explore alternative arrangements if required with the appointing manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the 18-week RTT target and basic NHS waiting times awareness.
  • Basic experience of working with information and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take responsibility for own development and contribute to audits supporting service development and data quality.
