Our client is a fast-growing, PE-backed organisation in York that operates within the tech space. The Part-Time Financial Controller position will be the lead finance figure in the business and have significant visibility and influence on their continued growth leading into 2026.

Job Description

In this Part-Time Financial Controller role, you'll be expected to:

  • Oversee financial operations, maintaining strong accounting controls, compliance, and timely monthly and annual reporting.
  • Deliver accurate management accounts and KPIs each month, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team, providing direction, mentorship, and effective performance management.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with overall business strategy and operational goals.
  • Manage year-end processes and external audits, preparing statutory accounts and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with group finance, auditors, banks, tax advisors, insurers, and pension providers.
  • Support business planning through budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to enable sound decision-making.
  • Contribute strategically to business performance by identifying opportunities, managing risks, and enhancing profitability.
