A not-for-profit organisation in Leicester is looking for a part-time Finance Assistant to manage day-to-day finance operations and contribute to monthly management accounts. The ideal candidate should have AAT Level 3 qualification and experience with Sage 50c. This role offers a salary equivalent to £30,000 per year, enhanced leave entitlement, and private medical insurance after probation.
Are you a detail-driven finance professional who thrives in a hands-on role?
We’re working with a not-for-profit organisation in Leicester that’s on the lookout for a Finance Assistant to join their small but dedicated team.
This is a part-time opportunity (20–21 hours per week) where you’ll take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and play a key role in producing accurate monthly management accounts. If you’re looking for a role that’s varied, supportive, and offers a great work-life balance, this could be the one.
You’ll be the go-to person for all things finance, working closely with the Head of Finance & Operations. Expect to get involved with:
Managing the day-to-day financial admin: payments, receipts, reconciliations, and banking.
Processing invoices, expenses, and payments through Sage 50c.
Keeping financial spreadsheets and databases up to date.
Producing reports, assisting with monthly management accounts, and supporting year-end prep.
Collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to keep everything running smoothly.
We’d love to hear from you if you can tick most of the following boxes:
AAT Level 3 qualified and confident using Sage 50c.
Solid experience in a finance support role, ideally within an SME, charity, or not-for-profit organisation.
Comfortable juggling multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
A confident Excel user with good all-round Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of partial exemption VAT, CRM or payment Stripe would be a bonus — but not essential.
A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Pro-rata salary equivalent to £30,000 per year.
Part-time hours (20–21 per week).
Enhanced leave entitlement.
Private medical insurance (after probation).
Employee Assistance Programme and Death in Service benefit.
A supportive, close-knit team environment.
This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference in a small, purpose-driven organisation while enjoying the balance of part-time hours. You’ll be part of a team where your work is genuinely valued and where you can bring your skills to life.
