Job description

The Enhanced Response Service is a fast‑paced service that provides support to service users who trigger their telecare alarm and also works alongside the ambulance service in responding to non‑injured falls. It promotes independence and signs post users onto partnership teams to provide person‑centred care, in collaboration with others.

The post requires flexible working, including regular morning, evening and weekend shifts, as well as the ability and willingness to travel across the team’s geographic area. You will be expected to assist with all personal care – washing, dressing, toileting, catheter care, feeding, meal preparation, medication and others – and to respond to falls and telecare alerts to provide reassurance and practical assistance in coordination with other services such as Fire and Rescue and Ambulance. You will apply learning from adult protection, diversity and the Mental Capacity Act and be responsible for recognising and reporting any situations, incidents or concerns in line with Council policy. Liaison with team members and other agencies – for example, assistive technology or health colleagues – is essential to ensure the service is delivered effectively, and you will need to complete both written and electronic documentation in accordance with CCC policy.

Available posts are 14.75 hours or 18 hours per week, based at Hereward Hall, March, with a set rota that includes morning, evening and weekend shifts and working every other weekend. Specific days of availability cannot be accommodated. Please see attached shift patterns.

Induction training is covered in the first four weeks of employment and will include training days with your line manager and shadowing members of the ERS team. Please note – these part‑time roles do not meet the salary requirements for sponsorship.

This is a rolling campaign; applications are reviewed daily and the opportunity will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is identified.

Required qualifications: previous experience in a care environment, preferably within adult social care, an NVQ Level 2 Care qualification or equivalent, and a willingness to work toward Level 3. Evidence of a good standard of general education including basic literacy and numeracy, good IT skills, and a full driving licence for manual vehicles is required. The role involves travel across Cambridgeshire, using CCC pool vehicles.
