Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Parish Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our presbytery, supporting the mission of the Catholic Church. This role is essential in ensuring our spaces remain inviting for parishioners and visitors. Reporting to the Parish Priest, you will be responsible for general cleaning within the presbytery, ensuring that all communal spaces are kept clean, tidy, and hospitable.

Responsibilities
  • Hoovering and dusting all presbytery rooms
  • Cleaning communal areas such as stairs, sitting and dining rooms
  • Mopping bathrooms and toilets
  • Polishing floors and surfaces
  • Cleaning interior windows and doors
  • Monitoring cleaning supplies and requesting refills when needed
  • Carrying out other ad hoc cleaning tasks as required
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a similar cleaning role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Remuneration and Benefits

£13.85 per hour | Permanent | 5 HPW (1 day) Part‑time | St Mary and St Joseph, 9 Pekin Street, E14 6EZ | Closing Date 5^th January 2026
