Job description

Panel Wirers have the ability to layout equipment produce basic wiring, working to company process standards and operating procedures in one of either Bench Assembly, LV or MV switchgear.

Reports to

Team Leader

Key accountabilities
  • Must be able to read basic Schematic drawings, G / A’s, CDR’s, D&P drawings and identify components.
  • Must be competent at stripping and crimping cables from 0.75mm to 120mm using hand tools and machinery.
  • Create Screen and Ethernet Cable.
  • Have the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • Have the ability to practice good housekeeping at all times and organise the work area effectively.
  • Produce basic wiring in a uniformed manner.
  • Work to clear instruction.
  • Work to process standards and operating procedures.
  • Capable of highlighting potential issues and suggesting rational corrective / preventative actions.
  • Capable and willing to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues when requested.
  • Responsible for achieving required output including productivity, quality and agreed targets.
  • Operate and have control of Kanban and consumable stock levels.

This role will work in a feeder cell (Panel assembly), but will have demand placed on its resource by all manufacturing areas. Good communication with all members of the team will be vital to the effective and efficient running of the area.

Education and Experience
  • The ability to effectively communicate using both verbal and written communication that delivers high levels of confidence in those dealt with.
  • The ability to meet the expectation of both internal and external customer, clients and suppliers through a sound understanding of their requirements, being responsive to their needs and exceeding their requirements.
  • The ability to pragmatically solve problems using varied approaches and considering all relevant factors and options before making a decision / taking action.
  • The ability to demonstrate energy, drive, commitment and dedication to achieving both own and company success.
  • The candidate ideally has previously worked in a manufacturing environment and have previous experience of wring to schematic diagrams.
