Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join the Community Therapies team on a locum basis. This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of community settings, supporting children and young people with complex communication needs.

You will be delivering speech and language therapy services in clinics, nurseries, schools, and colleges, making a meaningful impact on the lives of those with diverse and often complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex communication needs
  • Deliver therapy across multiple community settings including nurseries, schools, and colleges
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
  • Adapt therapy plans to meet individual needs and educational environments
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership
  • Proven experience working with complex needs in community settings
  • Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
