Overhead Line Design Engineer (Principal, Senior or Experienced) - Energy | Expression of Interest

As an Overhead Design Line Engineer within our team you be involved in the delivery of a wide range OHL projects - producing and reviewing technical documents in line with industry standards. It is a varied role that will see you involved in the development of design criteria, conductor selection, structure type selection, insulation coordination and lightning performance.

You will be involved in the development of typical OHL design deliverables - including line schedules, plan/profile drawings, staking tables and special crossings design. You will c onduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of proposed projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., civil, structural) to ensure the overall integrity of the project.

Qualifications

• degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or Civil Engineering or industry experience from a hands‑on/construction pathway
• CEng, IEng registration or working towards registration beneficial
• experience as an Overhead Line Design Engineer or similar role
• experience working for a Design Consultant, Design/Build Contractor, or an Asset Owner
• experience using PLS‑CADD to carry out new OHL designs and modifications to existing designs
• experience working with projects requiring UK design requirements
• understanding of complementary T&D disciplines such as HV Plant design, HV Cable design or T&D Civil design beneficial
• broad background with a specialism in OHL considered beneficial
• experience developing OHL deliverables and managing OHL delivery and workload across multiple projects
• team player with passion for innovation and client service
