A community support organization in Chorley is seeking a full-time support worker to assist individuals with learning disabilities. This role involves providing person-centered support, building relationships, and enabling clients to engage in community life. Essential skills include comfort with personal care and driving. We are looking for a full time support worker to work alongside our Outreach team.
To support people with learning disabilities, or any other vulnerable adults to be supported in their community. This may be support to find paid work and follow on support with that paid employment or it may be to enable a person to learn new skills, socialise and join in with organised activities and events as part of community life.
The role is key is to provide person centred support and connecting individuals to their community. Developing trust and building relationships is an essential part of the role, not just between support worker and individual, but through supporting regular attendance at their place of employment, community places and activities.
This would be to support clients in 1 : 1 support, and you must be comfortable with personal care.
Due to the services needs, we require the individual to be a driver with use of their own vehicle for work.
