Outpatients Staff Nurse – Gynae

London: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children

Full time; 37.5 hours per week

Shift times: Monday – Saturday (flexibility required to work various shifts covering early, late and long days, service is open Monday – Friday 8am – 8.30pm and Saturday 8am – 2pm)

Permanent contract

Salary: competitive (DOE) plus 4% shift allowance

We’re looking for a Gynae Staff Nurse to join the Outpatients at The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.

As the Staff Nurse within our gynae outpatient unit you will be expected to provide continuous nursing care and support to patients that will include assessment of patients’ care needs and, in conjunction with the consultants and the multidisciplinary team, contribute to the development of care plans, implementation and evaluation of these plans ensuring high standards of nursing care at all times. Assisting with running OPD clinics and performing procedures you will be involved in the diagnostic procedures that aim to investigate patient symptoms and treat them where possible, mainly including gynaecological OPD procedures.

The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. We're the UK's largest private children's hospital with over 46 paediatric beds including a 10-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a day case unit. Caring for over 40,000 children a year, we provide treatment for everything from general paediatric conditions to complex craniofacial reconstruction. We have over 175 paediatric consultants available to treat children from newborn up to the age of 18.

As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, delivering over 1,600 babies a year, we place great importance on providing safe and high-quality care for expectant mothers. Both consultant-led and midwife-led maternity care is available, and our aim is to provide you with all the support you need during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.

What you’ll bring:
  • Registered General Nurse – with previous experience and current NMC PIN
  • Previous experience within the Outpatient environment
  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Good knowledge of women’s health, inclusive of Gynaecological outpatient procedures
  • Evidence of any Gynaecological training courses
  • Phlebotomy and cannulation training desirable
