Job description

Are you interested in a 13 month engineering placement starting June 2026 with one of the UK's largest energy producers? Our Outage Planning and Delivery Team has an exciting industrial placement opportunity and is looking for a motivated team member with excellent interpersonal skills! RWE Generation Gas Group Project Planning and Commercial Management group supports our portfolio of gas fired power stations across Europe. Our Outage Support Engineer placement will allow you to work within this dynamic international team. The placement will be based at one of our generating assets and will support the Project Manager with delivery of a programme of high value Outage Projects. You would be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle including planning, preparation, delivery, and close-out.

  • Support Project Risk, Change & Continuous Improvement Management processes

During the project there is opportunity to work alongside the operations, maintenance and engineering teams, contractors and service providers. This may require visiting regional offices and working some extended hours to meet the demands of the project.

Qualifications
  • Ideally, you should be studying a BEng or MEng Mechanical Engineering degree at an undergraduate level
  • If your degree is in a similar Engineering, Maths or Science discipline and you have an interest in the energy industry, we would love to hear from you
  • The Assessment Centre will take place on Thursday 27 November 2025 face to face in Swindon at RWE UK Head Office

Accommodation will be booked on your behalf and travel subsidised by RWE. The evening prior to the Assessment Centre a meal will be held in Swindon which you will be required to attend.
