Overview
At Dowty (a GE Aerospace company) we have an exciting new 18 month fixed term contract opportunity, to work with our team onsite at our cutting edge manufacturing site in Brockworth, Glos. In this role you will be the lead for our spares distribution strategy and be accountable for the associated financial commitments to the business. Your responsibilities will include the ongoing management and improvement of our spares eCommerce platform, managing relationships with our contracted distributors and developing processes and metrics to ensure that delivery performance, inventory levels and margins are maintained. You will also be expected to lead projects to improve and simplify existing processes, ideally via digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Spares profit and loss, including forecasting of future sales to support strategic business planning
- Manage the Dowty eCommerce platform, making recommendations for (and leading the implementation of) improvements and/or new technology
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop other digital tools and solutions
- Manage the relationship between contracted spares distributors and the Dowty business ensuring the needs of the Dowty business are met
- Establish and manage key business processes and metrics related to spares distribution
- Lead the strategy for spares pricing, proposals, development and updates of catalogues using sound commercial judgement
- Be a key stakeholder in the Dowty S&OP process to direct material planning to ensure customer delivery performance, inventory and sales targets are met
- Act as point of escalation within Dowty for the civil spares distribution account for a range of issues including payment, delivery, materials allocation and quality issues
- Lead coordination of the business AOG spare parts service to ensure continuous service to customers
Qualifications
- Experience of working with eCommerce platforms, particularly in a business to business setup
- Understanding of MRP logic, preferably Oracle (Finance, Material and Sales Modules)
- Commercial account management experience
- Experience of leading projects with cross functional teams
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Six Sigma/lean training
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge or experience
