Bart's Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Cardiac MRI / CT trained Radiographer with a wealth of clinical and managerial experience who is looking for the opportunity to lead a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Cardiac Radiographers within the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe. This is currently a 12 month fixed term contract, potentially with opportunity to extend.
Utilising state of the art equipment, leading in Cardiac Research and paving the way for innovative and exciting opportunities within the field of Cross-Sectional Cardiac Imaging, the department is made up of 3 dedicated Cardiac MRI scanners and a brand new Siemens Naeotom Alpha photon counting Cardiac CT scanner, networking and expanding our services across the Trust.
Teaming with the Operational Lead Radiographer for Cardiac Cath Labs and deputising for the Head of Radiography in their absence, you would become an integral part of the BHTC senior team working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues and key stakeholders reporting and advising on service demands, expansion and delivery, as well as development of the professional group.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day provision of the Cardiac MRI and CT services, ensuring the service is run in an efficient and effective manner and that patients are given appointments commensurate with the clinical needs.
The post holder will provide high profile Clinical Specialist support to the cardiac MRI and CT suites and to the Cardiac Imaging department. The post holder will liaise with departmental Superintendent Radiographers with respect to staffing and other resource issues and is responsible for the management of dedicated and rotational cardiac MRI and CT staff.
The post holder will be expected to act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) for the service and will complete the appropriate training in order to be appointed and added to Bart's Health RPS register to carry out these duties.
This service is key to operational priorities within the Directorate and as such, the post holder will be expected to interact with senior members of the hospital staff reporting and advising on service demands and delivery. The post holder will be expected to articulate knowledgeably and effectively on complex technical issues to all service users.
