Overview

Bishop's Stortford College is seeking a committed and compassionate One-to-One Support Assistant to join our dedicated team.

The One-to-One Support Assistant provides individualised support to ensure the student’s full access to the curriculum and school activities. The Assistant works closely with teachers, the Head of Learning Support, and parents to meet the physical and emotional needs of the student. The role includes helping the pupil move safely between classes and assisting during physical activities and trips to ensure the child is safe and receives an equitable, inclusive education. Due to the personal care requirements associated with this position, we are seeking a female applicant.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to enable the pupil’s full access to the curriculum and school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the Head of Learning Support, and parents to meet physical and emotional needs.
  • Assist the pupil to move safely between classes and support during physical activities and trips to ensure safety and inclusion.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience of working with children who need physical assistance is essential.
  • The role is linked to a pupil with an EHCP and is funded; the role will be reviewed annually in line with funding and the student’s situation.
  • The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; a copy of the Child Protection Policy is available on the website.
