Job description

We are currently looking for someone to step into the role as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with our inpatient acute therapies team at the Peter Hodgkinson Centre in Lincoln. The role is predominantly based on Castle Ward, which provides assessment and treatment for female adults of working age who are acutely unwell, as part of inpatient mental health services provision.

The role also provides the opportunity to work with other members of the acute therapies team to provide inter-ward groups and interventions. As a valued team member, you will work with service users, the wider therapies and multidisciplinary team as part of your role to support individuals with acute mental health needs.

Your compassionate and collaborative approach will play a key part in people's recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient occupational therapy interventions through a mixture of groups and 1:1 working, undertaking things such as art, cooking, sensory work and gardening in a safe and person-centred way.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant role involves planning and implementing therapeutic activities appropriate to the needs, choices and interests of individuals in our care, under the supervision and guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist within an acute inpatient mental health environment.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will also be working with the in-house MDT which is designed to support the individual in our care throughout their journey with us.

We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of 'outstanding' for well-led and 'good' overall.
