Job summary

A governmental security agency in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced individual to lead nuclear security management at RNAD. This role requires liaising with various security pillars, identifying vulnerabilities associated with nuclear weapons, managing daily security projects, and overseeing security systems. Responsibilities

  • Identify and mitigate against any security vulnerabilities associated with Nuclear Weapons.
  • Daily management of security projects in RNAD ensuring high standards.
  • Assist in the initial investigations of security breaches.
  • Oversee the daily state of security systems, including CCTV.
  • Act as Atomic Liaison Officer and ensure confidentiality of ATOMIC information.
  • Participate in NW Security workshops and Security Exercise Programme.
  • Support Nuclear Safety and Security audits on request.
  • Ensure regular checks of Physical Security Equipment across the RNAD estate.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Lead for the day to day management of nuclear security at RNAD on behalf of Nuclear Security Authority Assistant Head (NSA Asst Hd) and Deputy Nuclear Security Authority (Coulport) DNSA(C).
  • Liaise with other pillars within Clyde Security Organisation (CSyO) to ensure that Coulport has the best level of Subject Matter Expert (SME) cover to enable the Depot and operations remain secure, safe and effective.
  • Liaise with MOD, Contractor Ministry Of Defence Police (MDP) and Service personnel to cultivate relationships which develop, maintain and improve the delivery of the security effect.
  • In consultation with NSA Asst Hd and DNSA (C), identify and mitigate against any security vulnerabilities associated with the Nuclear Weapon (NW) and any NW related movements in RNAD(C).
  • Act as the SME on weapon security, particularly the processes necessary to maintain safe, secure and effective operations.
  • Daily management of security projects in RNAD(C), ensuring the necessary work is driven forward to a high standard in conformance with Nuclear Safety and security standards, benchmarked against Office of Nuclear Regulation and Defence Nuclear Security Regulator.
  • Assist DNSA and NSA Asst Hd with the incorporation of security measures into Base policy, orders and instructions to build a positive security culture.
  • Assist in the initial investigations of security breaches of Physical security and MDP/MGS occurrence reports, providing advice on subsequent action and carrying out investigations when directed.
  • Oversee the daily state of security systems, including CCTV, PI DS and IDS and, where there are faults work to ensure these are remedied and work to mitigate any risk with Site Security Forces and others.
  • Act as the Atomic Liaison Officer for NBCC and ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of ATOMIC (plus COMPARTMENTS) information, including the TPR processes and keys. Enforcing the need to know principle and contributing to a positive security culture.
  • Participate in any NW Security workshops and the Security Exercise Programme, ensuring the latter conforms with the Site's Nuclear Safety Management protocols.
  • Support Nuclear Safety and Security audits and visits on request or as required.
  • Ensure a regime of regular spot checks of the Physical Security Equipment across the RNAD estate (including in the Control Rooms) is in place, particularly in areas of high risk such as DNA storage facilities and Armouries.
