Overview

"Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of the Nuclear Industry?" Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Team, we are looking to enhance our technical capabilities and are seeking an experienced Quality Manager - Nuclear Energy to join our team. The Quality Manager will lead the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of quality systems, policies and procedures for our active frameworks and projects, and will support work winning activities with respect to our quality approach for nuclear and follow this through into the initiation and delivery phase. This position reports to the Nuclear Operations Director.

AECOM has an expanding pipeline of both international and UK-based projects and this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact work across diverse projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment and implementation of a robust QMS on our frameworks and projects.
  • Work closely with our digital lead to streamline our quality approach.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, nuclear project requirements and other industry standards.
  • Provide quality leadership within assigned projects/frameworks to drive a continuous improvement culture and LEAN system for project productivity.
  • Collaborate with project directors, managers and engineering teams to drive quality throughout projects.
  • Coach and mentor project directors and managers to instill a quality mindset and advance the quality culture.
  • Oversee compliance across delivery teams and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide guidance on quality matters and system implementation, including preparation of project quality/management plans and related documentation; customize the quality management system as per project/client requirements while ensuring corporate system compliance.
  • Provide SME support for work winning activities, followed through into implementation and delivery.
  • Carry out internal audits, ensure timely closure of findings and share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Participate in meetings and reviews as required by frameworks and projects.
  • Prepare quality performance reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform root cause investigations as required.
  • Provide quality training, awareness and communication; support external and second-party audits as needed.
  • Engage with stakeholders and clients, including the UKI quality team.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree or a related field, incorporating quality qualifications.
  • Certified Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 or equivalent.
  • Chartered Quality Professional or equivalent.
  • Collaborative, client-focused leader with a drive to continuously improve.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic deadline-driven team environment.
