British American Tobacco United Kingdom has an exciting opportunity for a New Categories Operations Finance Manager in London, Globe House.

Reporting to the Ops Finance Controller, the MO Ops Finance Manager is a key business partner to the Operations team and cross-functional customers, driving financial performance and supporting the Operations strategy. This role is responsible for leading COGS, delivering efficiency savings, supervising inflation, and ensuring efficient allocation of OPEX and CAPEX resources. Collaboration with the global New Categories Operations finance team, global procurement, factory finance, CP&A, commercial finance, and R&D finance is essential to provide critical financial insights and enable data-driven decision-making that enhances business outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Efficiency Savings: Own the delivery of global productivity savings targets by aligning with various Ops functions and regions.
  • Inflation Tracking: Collaborate with center procurement on direct inflation and factory BAT Exports finance for manufacturing cost inflation tracking, ensuring timely insights to mitigate inflationary impact and optimize COG.
  • Innovation & Ops projects: Bring strategic and financial expertise to innovation and ops projects to support business decision making (including challenging operational cases and decisions) and deliver accurate business forecasts.
  • Transfer Price Approval: Serve as Single Point of Contact for approving the transfer prices for products sold through NVT.
  • Category Finance Management (Opex, Capex): Ensure proper prioritization, forecasting process and tracking of actuals.
  • Global Ops Finance Reporting (GPC cycles, monthly dashboard inputs, etc): Support COGS reporting through analysis and collaboration with CP&A and regional finance teams.
  • Competitors Analysis and Benchmark: Perform P&L/COGS analysis for main competitor products and benchmark with internal financials to get insightful information to optimize product cost.
  • Risks and Liability Management: Regular review of financial commitments, material authorizations and provide visibility on potential liabilities and risks to relevant forums.
What we look for

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Strong commercial competence with a deep understanding of new categories functions.
  • Proficient in finance systems such as SAP/BPC.
  • Experience in strategic analysis, performance metrics, project evaluation, and commercial finance, including operations, supply chain, product costing, and transfer pricing.
  • Confirmed leadership, influencing, proactive, creative, and collaborative, with a strong ability to handle ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
  • Independent, capable of making their own decisions and taking calculated risks.
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
  • Degree or MBA or equivalent experience in Economics / Finance
