Job Type : Contract

Pay Rate : Up to £580 per day (Umbrella)

Location : Remote

About the Client

We are recruiting for a leading technology consultancy currently delivering a major programme of work within Critical National Infrastructure. They are looking for a specialist SCADA Virtual Network SME to support the design and deployment of secure, high-availability network solutions. This is an opportunity to work on a vital project with significant autonomy and remote working flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Design and architect Virtual Network Solutions, specifically configuring and building NSX‑T services for workload domains.
• Deploy NSX Global Manager nodes to support NSX Federation across multiple VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) instances and sites.
• Design firewall requirements and support infrastructure to meet strict CNI security standards.

Implementation & Configuration

• Mandatory : Utilise Cisco Director skills for network management and orchestration.
• Execute hands‑on configuration of Broadcom NSX‑T, including the creation and management of Firewall rules, Distributed Firewall (DFW), Tier‑0 (T0), and Tier‑1 (T1) gateways.
• Deploy NSX Edge virtual appliances using SDDC Manager, integrated with NSX Manager.
• Implement automated password management workflows using SDDC Manager.

Operations & Automation

• Utilise VMware Aria Operations and Orchestration for the provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of network infrastructure.
• Manage network operations, integration, and automation within a complex, multi‑site VCF environment.
• Conduct rigorous testing, network packet capture, inspection, and result reporting.

Security & Compliance

• Implement Virtual Network Microsegmentation to ensure robust security postures.
• Configure and manage F5 load balancers and Fortigate Proxies.
• Ensure all designs and solutions adhere to Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) security standards.
