Job description
Overview

Neonatal Transitional Care Nurse - Band 5 position with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. Closing date: 28 September 2025.

NUH is expanding its Neonatal Transitional Care Service across the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and Nottingham City Hospital campuses. We are recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Band 5 Neonatal Transitional Care Nurses to support newborns who need additional care after birth but do not require admission to a neonatal unit. The service aims to keep the birthing person and baby together, with enhanced support from the midwifery and neonatal teams, facilitating a smoother transition home, increasing parental confidence and breastfeeding rates, and reducing separation between mother and baby.

The Neonatal Transitional Care Service at NUH comprises 8 beds located on the postnatal ward at each campus. We are building a dedicated nursing team to staff this service.

Working within the maternity and neonatal services at NUH offers an opportunity to be part of one of the UK\'s largest teaching hospital trusts, known for excellence and innovation in care. NUH supports over 8,000 births annually across QMC and City Hospital, with facilities including midwifery-led units, a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and home birth services. The trust emphasizes professional development through access to advanced training, mentorship, and research opportunities.
