A leading ambient food business in Redhill is seeking a National Account Manager to manage and grow sales across both new and existing accounts. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and at least three years of experience managing UK retailers, preferably in the food industry. Overview

National Account Manager (FMCG) – Location: Redhill. Job Type: Full-time. Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (DoE).

Join a leading, award-winning, employee-owned ambient food business specialising in import and distribution. With an international supply base in over 20 countries, they supply all major UK retailers along with foodservice customers with both Own Label and Branded products. They are looking for a National Account Manager to manage and grow sales across new and existing accounts, reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director.

Day-to-day Of The Role
  • Take autonomy and responsibility for a major retail account
  • Identify new business opportunities, follow these up and secure new lines
  • Build and manage strong relationships with customer contacts across all functions including Sales, Supply Chain, Technical, Product Development, and Merchandising
  • Collaborate with the internal Procurement team on new and existing business, constantly assessing the market for buying opportunities for your customers
  • Proactively manage customer stock levels working with the internal Supply Chain team
  • Work with the Category Insight Manager and Marketing Manager on best-in-class customer presentations utilising IRI and internal data
  • Manage and report on sales and contract balances
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2.1 or above in a relevant business degree.
  • Strong preference for a background in the food industry, although other FMCG products will be considered
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing UK Retailers
  • Own Label experience is preferable
  • Proven ability to win new business and hands-on account management skills
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Competitive and driven with strong IT skills, confident with spreadsheets
