Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Multiskilled Technical Facilities Technician to join our Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) team with Sodexo, delivering critical technical and soft services. This role requires in-depth knowledge of engineering and electrical support, with expertise in HVAC systems, complex systems testing, and compliance-driven maintenance. With proven experience in plumbing, preventative and reactive maintenance, and practical engineering, you will play a key role in ensuring assets are maintained to the highest standards while meeting all statutory and regulatory obligations.

What you'll do:

  • Work as part of a small, supportive, multi-skilled team delivering high-quality facilities services with Sodexo.
  • Take ownership of core maintenance tasks, compliance checks, and be ready to respond to occasional emergency situations.
  • Support and guide apprentices, collaborate closely with colleagues, and ensure contractors meet required safety and quality standards.
  • Help drive service improvements by maintaining procedures, meeting KPIs, and contributing to cost-effective, efficient operations.
  • Apply your technical expertise across a range of systems, including HVAC, building management systems, pressure systems, and facility monitoring.
  • Use your IT and engineering skills to plan, monitor, and improve maintenance activities, ensuring safety, reliability, and inspection readiness at all times.

What you'll bring:

  • A motivated and focused technician with strong knowledge of maintenance processes, risk management, and regulatory (SHE) compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-functional team where asset performance is business critical.
  • Technical expertise in hard services delivery (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems), with recognised qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Engineering.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, able to clearly present engineering issues and provide timely feedback to customers and colleagues.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to support service improvements and collaborate with suppliers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Professionally accredited or working towards accreditation, with a solid technical background in engineering principles and best practices across the asset lifecycle.
