Job description

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with an Electrical Engineering background to step into a Lead Site Manager position. This is a high-impact role, responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and delivery across complex Protection, Control, Automation, and Electrical installations. You'll lead site teams, supervise subcontractors, and drive high standards of health and safety across our operations. This is an opportunity to take ownership of major projects in the energy sector, including transmission substations, large generators, and industrial clients, while mentoring and developing other site managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance of electrical systems to strict safety and quality standards.
  • Manage multidisciplinary site teams (technicians, engineers, subcontractors) during installation and commissioning phases>
  • Chair site meetings, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Provide consultation on site methodologies and health & safety requirements.
  • Support project teams with documentation including risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans.
  • Undertake site surveys to support tendering, engineering, and subcontractor planning.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Drive best practice in quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Mentor and coach site managers, developing scalable processes and continuous improvement.
  • Represent Capula through thought leadership, industry engagement, and conferences.
Qualifications
  • Experienced site manager with electrical/mechanical background and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction regulations, including CDM 2015.
  • Health & safety training (IOSH, CITB, RoSPA, etc.) and Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
  • BS:7671 18th edition qualifications and experience in electrical installation.
  • Trained in Temporary Works Coordination/Supervision, asbestos awareness, impressed voltages.
  • Current National Grid Competent Person, ideally authorised as SR163 (TP137) Site Manager.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
