An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Band 3 Radiographic Assistant with an interest in patient care to join our busy, friendly team in MRI. The post will be based in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and the successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach in order to support other MRI departments across the organisation.
The post holder will have a good standard of general education including numeracy and literacy skills, with a commitment to undertake training to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Clinical Healthcare Support.
The post holder will be required to act as a pivotal role in the patient pathway within Radiology, supporting clerical and clinical duties as required. They will be expected to respond to routine queries, provide encouragement, reassurance and care to patients, and effectively liaise with other disciplines to discuss patient preparation, appointment times, and transport needs.
To assist trained and medical staff to provide safe care for patients within MRI.
To support qualified staff in MRI using knowledge and skills developed in the role.
To contribute to service improvements and communication ensuring safe and timely patient care.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
