Job description

We are currently looking for a Mobile Plant Operator to join our team on a rotating days and afternoons shift pattern. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant and machinery, ensuring productivity, quality, and health & safety standards are met at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Operate loading shovels and 360° material handlers to load/unload vehicles and stockpile materials
  • Operate FLT and clamp trucks to handle and load baled materials
  • Process commodity materials using the site baler (full training provided)
  • Carry out daily plant checks, routine maintenance, and accurate record keeping
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all areas of the site
  • Conduct regular inspections of site infrastructure
  • Control internal vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely
  • Ensure timely turnaround of deliveries and collections
  • Communicate any operational issues or hazards to the supervisor promptly
  • Actively contribute to improving productivity and reducing waste
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, reporting concerns as required
Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety within an industrial or processing environment
  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Valid licences for 360° Excavator (wheeled and tracked), Loading Shovel, FLT (3.5t)
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work rotating shifts
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
  • A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
