Overview

Permanent opportunity with the Mental Health Liaison Team, a Psychiatric Liaison Service operating out of three Acute hospitals in Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick. We have secured funding to recruit additional Band 6 clinicians to join our expanding multidisciplinary team to enhance our service in line with the NHS 5 year Forward View for Mental Health to achieve a CORE 24 service. This will develop to facilitate initial community follow-up in line with CORE 24 objectives.

We are strengthening our team and are looking for skilled, motivated and compassionate practitioners as we increase our hours of service to offer a more responsive and comprehensive service for people who attend A&E or are receiving care in a general hospital. The service is available 365 days a year and operates a 24 hour model to support the Acute Trust hospitals across three sites.

About the role and team

We would particularly like to hear from Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists with a background in Adult Mental Health, Learning Disability and/or Older Adults Mental Health. Successful candidates will join an established team of experienced practitioners including Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Workers and a Clinical Trainer to support new staff joining the team.

The service is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with an Outstanding rating for care and compassion. We have also been recognised locally and nationally with awards for the services we provide.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull, serving a population of over one million people. On average we see around 5,000 patients every day.

Responsibilities
  • Work across three sites (Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick) as part of the MHLT.
  • Support 24/7 service delivery including weekend and night shifts.
  • Contribute to high standards of patient care and safety within an acute hospital and community setting.
  • Collaborate with other teams and services within the Acute Trust hospitals and partner organisations.
  • Participate in the development of CORE 24 objectives, including future community follow-up pathways.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Professional registration in mental health nursing, social work or as an allied health professional.
  • Demonstrable clinical experience in mental health settings.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Passionate and committed to delivering a high standard of service.
  • Ability to work in partnership with other teams and services, including Acute Trust hospitals.
Additional information

Band 6 level posts require flexibility to reflect the service needs, including weekends and night shifts across three sites.
