The Company:

We are looking for an experienced Menswear Designer (Jersey) to join a successful clothing company and add to their busy team. You will be designing on trend casual wear for a wide variety of high street customers, both for the UK and International markets – liaising with Buyers and meeting briefs

We are reaching out to find a talented jersey designer who has a passion for mens jersey and can deliver high quality designs with the ambition to help grow the business. You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively. This is a fast‑paced role, working seasonally to design presentations, researching trends and creating clothing ranges – it’s a real opportunity for someone to grow within the role and progress as they expand

Role & Responsibilities

• Actively contribute design ideas, design concepts and research key and emerging trends
• Creation of seasonal, trend led ranges in line with brief and budget
• Good knowledge on jersey fabrics and how best to use for own designs
• Sourcing new fabric and trims for relevant accounts
• Sound knowledge of garment construction and able to produce professional design packs
• Understanding sales and cost-effective design
• Pro‑active, strong communication skills and the ability to build valued relationships with colleagues and customers
• Own management of organising the design room, preparing for meetings and design presentations
• Responsible for arranging and attending meetings with customers in aiding the growth of the business
• Taking ideas from concept, creating initial specifications through to production of initial samples

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree (or equivalent) in Fashion design
• Relevant experience within industry is a must working for either supplier or retailer in mens jersey
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is a must and Photoshop
