An established hockey club in Milton Keynes is seeking passionate individuals for the roles of Men’s and Women’s Performance Coach. This exciting opportunity allows you to work closely with the Technical Director to foster a high-performance culture and grow membership. Coaches will lead training sessions, manage team strategies, and contribute to player development. Ideal candidates will have a Level 2 UK coaching qualification and experience at a high level, making this a perfect role for those looking to advance their coaching careers in a supportive environment.
Milton Keynes is a well established hockey club based at Woughton on the Green. Currently competing in the South Central Leagues, we have 4 women's teams (North Division 1 - Division 3 Cherwell) and 4 men's teams (Premier Division 2 - Division 3 Cherwell) as well as a Junior section (U8s - U16s) feeding our senior teams.
We are looking for experienced and driven individuals to fill the roles of Men’s and Women’s Performance Coach (2 separate vacancies) who can be part of our growth and development plan working under the Technical Director to implement best practices, a high performance culture and grow membership at the club. As well as develop & nurture our lower teams and juniors.
We would prefer coaches who are available to travel with both 1s and/or 2s teams on Saturdays as assigned to manage and adapt the gameplay.
Summary of our current training set up for the 1XIs:
- Training twice per week on Tuesdays & Thursdays
- The 1XI and 2XI train together
- Work with the Technical Director to implement a pre-season training programme which would include fitness, training sessions and friendlies.
- Work alongside the Technical Director to deliver engaging and appropriately challenging training sessions with the aim to develop and strengthen the squads.
- Have input in selection, with both team performance and individual development in mind.
- Work with club leadership to ensure development throughout the club and to attract new players.
- Monitor performance, commitment and provide feedback to players on a team and individual level.
Candidates would preferably have a Level 2 UK coaching qualification, or would be keen to work towards it, and be eligible to work in the UK. We would also be looking for experience as either coach or player at a high level. Pay to be discussed upon enquiry and would be dependent on qualifications & experience - any successful candidate would be subject to a DBS check.
This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring coaches to work with and learn from our Technical Director Nku Davis who is on the FIH Academy Pathway an EH ACP graduate and is still working actively with senior teams in international hockey.
