Overview

Medical Laboratory Assistant in Biochemistry at the UCLH Rapid Response Laboratory, 60 Whitfield Street, London. Location: 60 Whitfield St, W1T 4EU. Contract/Hours: Permanent / 37.5. Salary range: Up to £27,007.50 DOE.

About the role

The Biochemistry department provides a variety of investigations using Cobas 8000 analysers, a Cobas 8100 pre-analytical system and an Osmo1 Osmometer to test a wide range of Biochemistry based tests. Tests range from routine chemistry and immunoassay processing to more specific and specialised tests including methotrexate and pre-eclampsia screenings. The department is in the Rapid Response Laboratory for University College London Hospital (UCLH) and is part of the Health Services Partnership between The Doctors Laboratory (TDL), Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and UCLH which provides pathology services to NHS Trusts and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Support biochemistry testing using Cobas 8000 analysers, Cobas 8100 pre-analytical system and Osmo1 Osmometer.
  • Assist with routine chemistry and immunoassay processing and more specific/specialised tests as required (e.g., methotrexate and pre-eclampsia screenings).
  • Collaborate within the Rapid Response Laboratory environment and with partner NHS Trusts to ensure timely and accurate pathology services.
